Tips for Resurrecting
* i
wrote this one night when i was tired…so bear with me. if you have any suggestions on how to make
this better, or make more sense of this,
email me and i'll change it.
When a
fellow evil realmer dies, it is our job to bring them back to life before their
time runs out…if time runs out, they will release. The first thing to do, as a healer, is to cast your locate spell,
and see if you are near them (you will not get this spell until you reach level
5). If you are able to get to them,
send them and let them know you are coming, or at least ask if they need help. When you do reach them, first thing, and the
most important thing to remember is to preserve them before you do anything (I
can’t stress enough how important preserving is…you will eventually realize it
yourself as you play). As you get
bigger, your preserve spell will last longer, ranging from one minute up to the
max of four minutes. By the time you
reach level 10, you will have preservation.iv, which allows you to preserve
someone for the max of four minutes.
Next thing
you will need to do is ask what level they are, to see if you can rez them - if
you have the ability to rez (the lifegiving spell comes at level 12). If you are not able to rez them, keep them
preserved until someone who can comes…or, when all else fails, drag them to a
hospital and pay to rez them. The cost
to rez someone works like this: If the person is level 20, it will be half
their level, times 1,000, or 10,000 silver.
If the person is level 10, it would cost 5,000 to rez them. Try to avoid paying for someone if another
person is able to get them up, because as a player gets bigger, it becomes more
expensive to pay to rez, and scrolls are usually about 10k to purchase and can
be used on all players, given the rezzer is bigger than the person in need of a
rez.
Once you
reach level 12 and gain the ability to rez, I would suggest the following
guidelines when casting lifegiving on players:
*Please remember to drag your fallen
comrade to a safe area before rezzing*
~From lvls
12-19, you will only have lifegiving.i
For best
results, preserve them first, and then drag them (incase you have to run out of
the room). See if there is a weapon
they dropped and pick it up for them (if nothing’s there, ask if they dropped
something – maybe you could get it for them, or help them retrieve it when they
are up). Then make sure you are out of
harms way. Give them a few heals… a few
casts should be good enough, and make sure that you are completely rested and
have full power before you cast the lifegiving spell on them. Don’t rez anyone unless they are at least 5
levels below you. Keep in mind, as you
heal them, and rest yourself, you need to keep them preserved.
~From lvls
20-28, you will have lifegiving.ii
Same as
above applies. It’s always best to heal
them a bit before you rez them so they are not at 0 health. One hit by a critter would kill them
again. If you are level 27, and they
are level 25 or so, be kind and ask them if you may rez them. Most likely you will be successful, if you
are fully rested, and powered, but there is no worse feeling than rezzing
someone and releasing them, or making them lose constitution. Some people get over zealous and think, ‘I’m
bigger than them, so I can rez them.’
Always ask first before you rez if you are not sure. It saves embarrassment and the silver you
should give them to pay for con loss.
~From lvls
29-39 you will have lifegiving.iii
By this
time, you should know what you can and cannot do with your lifegiving
spells. The higher the spell (i, ii,
iii) the closer you can be to another players level to rez them. There are times when you can attempt to rez
someone your level, or higher, IF that player is in total agreement. If you’re level 39, and you’re trying to rez
a player that’s level 35, you most likely will succeed. But please keep in mind that casting the
spell takes power and fatigue from you.
It is always wise to make sure you’re well rested and powered before
casting any lifegiving spell.
~From lvls
40-49 you will have lifegiving.iv
With this
list you can pretty much rez anyone your level and below. There are always the exceptions, so keep in
mind that it’s best that the other person is a level or few below you to be
safe.
~Once you
reach level 50, you will receive lifegiving.v
This
allows you to rez anyone your level and below as well as a few levels above
your level. Be careful when you go to
rez someone bigger than you. Always ask
before rezzing if they are indeed bigger to make sure they are ok with it.
The main
things to remember when rezzing someone is:
~ Preserve
first
~ If you have
time, ask what weapons/shield was dropped and see if you can retrieve it
~ Drag
to a safe area, or as close as you can get to one
(or at least drag them to include
them in your party incase you have to run out of the room)
~
Heal/rest/check power & fatigue
~ Check
level, and ask if it’s ok to rez if the level is close to yours
~ If you
pick up a weapon, please remember to give it back!
(I’ve found myself running off with
weapons, not a good thing!)
